Just a bit of a recap:
Make sure the Respect Sticker is in new books now as well if students are starting to finish their books
Please continue to use the big picture slides at the beginning of every lesson- it's linked here if you want it now
- Everything we are looking at in terms of the scheme is here
- It is geared to the Non Fiction paper at the moment that the students will be sitting, located here
- If you follow the scheme and question types/Assessment Focusses each week you will have covered everything

What skill needs to be worked on?
Descriptive writing- the key tasks are:
Descriptive writing- a time when you felt ___ about something, or a response to a picture- see the papers in the Dropbox for the actual tasks.

- Students can hotseat/assume position of characters
- Students to come up with and describe their own dystopian style future
- Students to describe what a school might look like in this world
- Use descriptive writing resources in scheme

What skill needs to be worked on?
Creative writing- techniques, sentence structures, metaphor, simile, openers
Suggestions:
Murder scenes as writing stimuli
Diary as a murderer/murder victim
The Snowman by Duffy- poem to empathise/get into mindset of criminal
Students to make predictions as to the outcome of the novel- assume the position of the assailant and produce an ongoing blog- with dates etc- as the person
Year 9
- Non fiction- again trying to get a more technical focus. Fish around my stuff here if it helps.
