Tiger Family Newsletter May '23
All the important deets to stay in the know!
May It Be of Benefit
Dear Families,
This last Tiger Talk of the school year has a lot of information in it, so I will keep my address short and give you plenty of time to read the various articles. I do want to make sure you know how much we value the input and support that we receive from you, our parents. "It takes a village" as they say, and we appreciate all that you do as families whether that is reading with your child, providing a quiet place and other routines to support homework, donating classroom snacks or supplies, sharing important information that will help staff support your child, cheering students on at games and performances, taking the time to complete our survey, signing permission slips, and the list goes on. In these and countless other ways, we acknowledge all you do and we say, "Thank you."
Please mark you calendars for 3 ways that we want to share our gratitude with you. The first is by inviting you to our annual Open House and Splash Into Summer Event. This year it will be held on Thursday, May 25th with a free barbeque beginning at 5 PM and classrooms open from 6-7 PM. After you eat, be sure to stop by the tables that will be filled with summer learning suggestions and supplies. There will be journals for writing, books and reading program information, math games and much more to keep learning alive through the summer.
The second is our Volunteer Appreciation Drive Through Breakfast on Friday, May 26th from 7:15-8:00 AM. Bring your child to school and as you drop them off, we will serve you carside with a breakfast sandwich and/or a cup of coffee to kick start your day- just a small way we can say "thank you."
Finally, join us for our PTO sponsored (free) Family Dance that night (Friday, May 26th) from 6-8. This annual event is a crowd favorite- a fun way to bring families together for some dancing, music, and laughter. A flyer will be sent home as we get closer to these events with details. Looking forward to finishing this year strong!
Gratefully,
Mrs. Gold
5th Grade All Stars
Congratulations to our 5th-grade All Star Student Nominees! Lilyanna Heberlein and Cheenu Vang will be representing Shasta Meadows at the annual breakfast where All Stars from across the county from 5th, 8th, and 12th grades are celebrated. These students have earned this nomination by having exemplary grades, demonstrating outstanding citizenship, and participating in sports and/or community involvement such as scouts or other volunteer organizations. Way to go Cheenu and Lilyanna!
Volunteer Appreciation
Parents and other volunteers, we want to thank you for volunteering in classrooms, accompanying students on field trips, donating supplies, and a hundred other things you do to support Shasta Meadows. Mark your calendars for our Volunteer Appreciation Drive Through Breakfast on Friday, May 26th from 7:15 - 8:00 AM.
Open House & Splash Event
We hope everyone will be able to swing by our Open House and Splash Into Summer Event. The FREE BBQ begins at 5 PM and classrooms are open from 6-7. Come and see the amazing things your child has done this year and pick up some information and materials to keep learning going throughout the summer.*

Warm Weather Attire
With the warmer temps comes cooler clothes!
We would like to ask our Tiger families to support us here at school by making sure that clothing for all students falls within the framework of our dress code.
- All shoes must have a back strap or closed heel (for safety when running and playing)
- Shirts need to cover the abdomen and undergarments should not be visible
- Shorts must have no less than a 4-inch inseam (also, please make sure holes and shredded areas are lower than the 4" inseam)
- No pajamas or pajama bottoms (we take learning seriously and want to see students comfortable but also dressed for success, out of their pjs and ready to learn)
