McAllister Minutes
Week of: November 13 - November 17
The Week Ahead!
The week of November 13-17 is American Education Week. As we all know, the business of education is the most important for so many reasons! The magnitude of impact that each and every faculty/staff member have on our students is Incredible! As we know, there are those that teach and those that support those that teach - without everyone all working in unison the positive change we see at McAllister would not be possible! I want to acknowledge the fact that I understand the good tough work you all are enduring and rising to the expectation of in order to meet the needs of our students. While this time of year is always apt to being difficult/overloaded, please remember that we are here to support you and welcome the opportunity to work together to find solutions to work smarter and not harder! As we enter American Education Week, I want to thank you for your support of our most prized possessions (our students).
- Monday - Friday: You are invited to Enjoy American Education Week in style, feel free to don denim ALL week.
- Tuesday: We Donut know what we would do without Educators like you! Enjoy Donuts in each workroom on Tuesday morning!
- Wednesday: Wet your Whistle Wednesday! Thank you a Latte for ALL you do! Enjoy a coffee bar that will be set up centrally in the Media Center Wednesday morning for all to enjoy!
- Thursday: Enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal on us in the cafeteria! The stage area will be decorated and awaiting your arrival so you can enjoy your meal with great company!
- Friday: Who doesn't like a surprise to end the week? We have something INCREDIBLE in store for each and everyone of YOU!
As we round out our last week prior to Thanksgiving, I want you ALL to know just how thankful I am for you and the work you do with students each and everyday. The tight knit community that has been created within this school is second to none and one that you can always count on even when the going gets tough. The support you all afford each other makes this place so very special and creates an optimum learning environment for each and everyone of our boys and girls.
Use the Thanksgiving break to not only give thanks for all of your blessings, but use it as a time to rest, relax and refocus your mission.
Below I have listed a few reminders so that they can be kept at the forefront as you plan and execute your daily tasks!
- Need a Substitute? Be sure that you have entered your absence in AESOP as well as notified your grade level admin and Ms. Lane! Personal Leave will not be approved without 3 days notice - Substitutes are a hot commodity and should be secured in advance if you are utilizing personal leave. *Emergency Sub Plans should always be prepared in the case you have an emergency!
- Money? Please ensure that all money is accounted for daily and that it never stays in your room overnight. MyPaymentsPlus has been a big help with this, but we still need to be cognizant of this as we collect money.
- Lunch - Please be on time, the flow and cleaning procedures are not able to flow efficiently and effectively when students are not picked up on time. Thank you in advance!
- Communication w/Parents -If a student is consistently not meeting the expectation whether it be academically or behaviorally please be certain you are contacting those parents by phone and that you are able to talk to an actual person and not an answering machine. We are a team and will work together to support the needs of our students, if you have questions or need assistance please let me know! NO Surprises!

Mr. Morris gave an INCREDIBLE speech, not only did he include the word INCREDIBLE nearly 10 times but he really spoke to the hearts of all our service men and women! Well Done!
Speaking of Growth Mindset in action!...I am inspired by hearing of the great work that teachers like Ms. Chancey, Dr. Ward, Ms. Carpenter and Ms. Dimarzio have been able to execute while working with a great resource for ALL - Our ILT Ms. Finnegan. Thank you to those of you that have taken a leap of faith and embraced this type of support to better support our STUDENTS!
McAllister students and families have such a compassionate heart! Major Kudos to ALL involved in the organization of such a successful canned food drive for needy families in our community!
