COLLIER ADULT EDUCATION
Tuesday, April 2, 2019
Message from the Leadership Team.
The week before spring break we post-tested approximately 55% of our evening students. This is consistent with what we have done in the past, however, our expectation has changed to between 90% and 100%. Expectations have changed, in part, because of our instructional focus and our commitment to managed enrollment. Additionally, as part of managed enrollment, you may have noticed we are not "moving" students in the middle of a semester. Students remain with their instructors for a semester (two sessions) which means we have a pre-test upon entry and a post-test at the half-way point of the semester. The data are useful in planning instruction for the remainder of the semester. This also allows for continuity of instruction and to help instructors build relationships with students.
At our last coordinator meeting, we shared student results that included the January 2019 pre-test and the March 2019 post-test. These results included snap-shots of each of your classes collectively and individual results of the students on your roster. If your coordinators have not yet shared the results with you, please ask for them.
Finally, summer classes are currently being planned and will be held at LWTC in the morning and the evening. If you are interested in teaching with us this summer, we ask that you commit to the entire summer calendar (June 4 - July 25). Please let us know of your interest in teaching this summer by clicking and completing the questionnaire/survey. https://forms.gle/99tcYjfzDZqXf4UP8
