Habit Two: Begin with the End in Mind
- Set short term and long term goals.
- Plan the steps you need to take to reach your goals.
Have a Plan: I plan ahead and set goals. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my classroom and contribute to my school’s mission and vision. I look for ways to be a good citizen.
We also have building and classroom goals. Our building goal is for our students to earn 100 Soaring Hawks through positive behavior. When we reach our goal, we earn a Positive Behavior Day. We have already earned 83 Soaring Hawks!
Ways to practice Begin With the End in Mind at Home:
- Lay out your clothes for tomorrow before you go to bed.
- Get out a pencil and a piece of paper and write down three goals you want to do. Put the paper in a safe place where you can see it.
- We all have something we need to get better at, like doing our homework, brushing our teeth at night, or obeying our parents. Pick one thing you need to do better. Start doing it.
Bus Evacuation Drills
Our Hawks practiced bus evacuation drills today at school. To evacuate the bus means to leave the bus quickly and safely. The following information and procedures were discussed on the buses with students:
1. Introduction to emergency equipment on the school bus. The bus driver familiarized and showed students how operate the emergency equipment on the school bus: First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, Two Way Radio Emergency, Parking Brake, and Safety Latch on the Emergency Exits
2. Rules of safe conduct
3. Ways to evacuate the bus - rear door evacuation and side door evacuation split door evacuation for a bus rolled over
Health News from Nurse Sandy
Great news – our students are now eligible for the COVID vaccine. I encourage you to talk to your family doctor or pediatrician to see if your child should receive the vaccine. The vaccine is safe and will go a long way in decreasing the spread of the COVID virus. If you have any questions – please feel free to call me. If your child does receive the vaccine – please let me know so I can update their health record.
Thank you,
Nurse Sandy
