Announcing: Microsoft Office 365
EM-S ISD will be transitioning to Microsoft® Office 365 very soon. In addition to the email and calendars we already use, Office 365 provides all users with access to cloud-based storage (25 gb!), advanced web conferencing tools, and easy options for sharing files with co-workers, students, parents, and others.
Your part of the transition will be quick and easy. We'll send step-by-step directions!
What to expect during and after the Office 365 transition...
- You will continue to use the Outlook Web App or Microsoft® Outlook 2010 to view and send email from your school account, but you'll sign in at a different address. You will need to update your bookmarks and/or desktop shortcuts. The first time, you will need to create a password for your account. (No worries ... we'll send directions!)
- You will still have access to your email on mobile devices, but you may need to update passwords. Some users may need to delete the email account from their device and add it back.
- You will still have access to SkyDrive, WebApps, and other Microsoft services. This account will be separate from your email account, but you will use the same username and password as you currently use to access your school email. EM-S ISD will no longer have administrative access over your SkyDrive account, which means we will not be able to reset passwords, etc. There is a password recovery link to help you access these personal files.
You will receive step-by-step information on how to complete this transition, how to change your bookmarks/shortcuts, and how to access your personal files on SkyDrive. During the actual transition, members of the Technology Department, the Instructional Technology staff, and the Campus Technology Integrators (CTIs) will be available to help.
