Student Supports
Meet Our Substance Use Specialist
Hello Families!
My name is Lynn Kramer, and I’m the Substance Use Prevention Specialist who serves the Merlo Station Campus. My role on campus is to support students struggling with substance use, as well as provide educational opportunities for students and families to learn about substances and the effects they have on the mind and body. Students can be referred to me in many ways! Students can refer themselves, counselors and teachers can refer a student they’re concerned about, parents can reach out to their student’s school counselor, or you can contact me directly!
I work with students individually to set goals around reducing use, and then we learn skills to help support those goals! This year, we are also trying a small group format, where peers can share stories and support each other. We are also planning some parent information nights throughout the school year. These nights will be a space for parents to learn more about various substances that we see students using, and provide an opportunity to ask questions and voice concerns. Keeping our kiddos safe takes a team, and we are dedicated to our students and their well-being as a whole!
Please reach out if you have any concerns or questions!
Continuing Education For Young Parents (CEYP)
CEYP is a program for BSD students who are pregnant and/or currently parenting. CEYP has been an invaluable resource for teen parents for over 40 years and is currently housed at the Merlo Station Campus. The Little Mustangs Learning Center is the on-site licensed child care portion of CEYP. Any BSD student who has a child (age 6 weeks to 3 years) is eligible to access free quality child care at Little Mustangs during school hours.
Community School provides a supportive environment in which students can continue their education and prepare for the responsibilities of pregnancy and parenthood. It also allows parents to be close to their children. All BSD students can access the Little Mustangs Learning Center (even if they are attending another school).

Parent and Caregiver Support Group
New support group for parents and caregivers of middle and high school students in the Beaverton School District. The Beaverton School District is teaming up with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Washington County to offer this free, peer-led support group, where you can share your experiences in a safe setting. Through talking with other parents, you can gain hope, have your voice to be heard, and receive empathy, understanding, and a sense of community.
For Merlo Station Campus students, Urban Gleaners are here on 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, starting September 25th!

Merlo Station SBHC is here to help!
Luckily we have School Based Health Center in Merlo Station Campus.
It has all the immunizations your student needs to stay in the classroom on Exclusion Day.
The SBHC can help get your student up to date on their required immunizations. Multiple vaccines can safely be given in the same appointment, so your student can spend less time in the clinic and more time in the classroom.
Call (503) 941-3210 to schedule a vaccine appointment.
