REMINDERS FOR PARENTS
ABSENCES: Please call in your child’s absence each day before 9:30 AM. If we do not receive a call, we will try to reach the parent or guardian with the Connect Ed System to account for the child.
PUNCTUALITY: The school day begins at 8:50 AM. All students reporting late to school are required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian to the office to check in before going to his/her classroom.
NOTES TO SCHOOL: Please be sure to include your child’s first and last name plus homeroom teacher’s name on all correspondence regarding dismissal changes and absences.
Be sure to review any changes to your child’s dismissal plans with him/her before school and send a note to your child’s homeroom teacher. This will help avoid confusion and interruptions to the classroom during the school day.
RECESS: During the winter months, we will be outside for recess if the play areas are plowed and the temperature is above 25 degrees. Although safety concerns and time restrictions prevent play time in the snow, hats, mittens, and winter coats are still necessary to protect children from the frigid temperatures.
ALTERNATE BUS STOPS: Affected bus routes for the GWS area include Pioneer Trail & Settlers Path, and the upper and lower Blackmount neighborhoods off of Webster Street. The bus will make all existing stops on Webster Street.
When flooding occurs in the Brant Rock area, the “high road” section of Ocean Street and the Esplanade area may be affected.
Please be sure to discuss the appropriate bus stop location with your child in advance. If you plan to pick your child up from school, be sure to notify the office in writing and document any carpool arrangements.
