Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was born on may the 7th 1840 he was born in Vyatka in Russia.
When Tchaikovsky was 5 he started doing piano lessons although he displayed an early passion for music, his parents hoped that he would grow up to work to keep playing.Tchaikovsky married a young music student named Antonina Milyukova. with Tchaikovsky abandoning his wife within weeks of the wedding. During a nervous breakdown, sadly he attempted to commit suicide, and eventually fled abroad.Among his most famed late works are the ballets The Sleeping Beauty (1890) and The Nutcracker (1892). when he was 14 years old. In 1859, Tchaikovsky honored his parents' wishes by taking up a bureau clerk post with the Ministry of Justice.

Although Tchaikovsky made outstanding and advertising to the symphonic and operatic repertoires, the average music-lover knows Tchaikovsky for his ballets. Foremost among these are sleeping beauty , Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker, three of the most popular ballets of all time. Both Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, as well as part of The Nutcracker, were choreographed by Marius Petipa, who had studied ballet in his native France before emigrating to Russia. By uniting lyricism with technical difficulty, Tchaikovsky and Petipa transformed the world of classical dance.
