2023-2024 Intent to Return Forms
Each year, around this time, we start preliminary planning for the upcoming school year. An important part of that is determining our enrollment numbers. Please fill out the appropriate form below before Friday, March 17th for each of your children currently attending Alta Vista.
After School and Summer Activities
Are you looking for an after school activity for your child or simply planning ahead for the summer? Be sure to check out some wonderful options that you'll find on the Alta Vista website. Under the Activities tab, you will find information about Snapology, Softball, Cub Scouts, Summer Camps, and more.
California Universal Meal Program
As you may have heard in the news, California became the first state to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program for all school children. All students, regardless of income, have access to a breakfast (served at recess) and lunch at school.
Beginning today, students needed to start inputting their identification number after collecting their food. This means that for the next few days, the lines will be a bit longer and may move a bit more slowly. For our younger students, their information is on a card which is kept in the cafeteria. Older students use a keypad to input their number. This is the same number that they use on their Chromebooks, so for most students, it is an easy code to retrieve. But ... they can also get the number from their teacher or from the cafeteria staff. We are all here to help.
At the bottom of every Vista Views, you will find a downloadable menu for the month.
Spring Picture Day - March 17, 2023
Generations School Photography will be at Alta Vista on Friday, March 17th for Spring Picture Day. They will be taking individual pictures of all students. There is no need to pre-order photo packages. Proofs and ordering information will be emailed two weeks after Picture Day.
You can find more information in the flyer at the bottom of the newsletter.

What is your favorite thing about Alta Vista?
My favorite thing about Alta Vista is the community of teacher/staff and the amazing students. I look forward to going to work each and every day. So many friendly faces to say hello to in the morning.
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Kevin, and I are blessed with 2 children. Tristan (13) and Kayleigh (12) both went to Alta Vista and are now at Union Middle. Tristan loves coding and sports. Kayleigh loves art and volleyball. We have a furbaby, Buddy, who adopted us as his family just before Covid lockdown. He was a stray cat who found our home and claimed it as his.
What do you like to do when you are not at school?
I love to be crafty and creative. I enjoy hanging out with my family playing games or watching movies.
