Milestones Simulation Test
We will use the simulation to also practice our procedures for testing, including signing out testing materials, conducting small group test sessions, providing testing accommodations etc. Each student will receive a test ticket which they will use to log in. You will receive a script to read to the students as well. I will provide you with all of this information in our faculty meeting so we can discuss the expectations and procedures for this day.
Strategies for Student Who Refuse to Work
All behavior, whether positive or negative, has a function (reason) for being exhibited. It may be what is occurring in the classroom or at home that prompts behaviors. Some common, overarching functions of behavior are seeking attention, engaging in a power struggle, seeking revenge, or trying to escape the task at hand. Within those themes, specific behaviors occur, such as refusing to do work. We've all seen it and we all know not every strategy works for every situation. Some reasons for refusal include
1- Classroom atmosphere
2- Teacher/student relationship
3- Teaching strategies
4- Lack of motivation
I've posted a link to an article with strategies in these areas for you to access. Take a look at the article and reflect on the behavior you are seeing from your student(s). Could one of these strategies work? Give it a try!
