Important Information About Use of Technology During AP Testing
GUIDELINES ON INTERNET USAGE DURING TESTING
School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties administers several online tests for students throughout our district each spring. This year, more than 3,000 students in our district will test simultaneously from Monday, May 13th through Friday, May 24th.
To help ensure the success of state required online testing, all video streaming access will be blocked on the district network on the following dates: May 13th - May 24th. This will include, but is not limited to videos streaming on YouTube, Vimeo, Khan Academy, PBS, TeacherTube, BrainPop, and BrainPop Jr. The restriction will be in affect across the district for all locations and all grade levels.
Please remember that students and staff must not bypass, or attempt to circumvent, district Internet filters as that would violate the district's Internet Acceptable Use Agreement and Staff Technology policy. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to another successful year of online spring testing!

School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties
2019 High School Summer Program
APEX (ON-LINE)
Eligibility:
Students must have previously failed a course to be eligible for credit recovery. Participation in credit recovery will not affect a student’s GPA. Should a student wish to modify his/her GPA, he/she should repeat the full course for credit and not seek participation in the credit recovery program.
Students are eligible for a credit recovery course if they have previously taken and failed an initial credit (first attempt) course. Students must have obtained a grade of 50 or higher (50-59) in the initial credit course, or the student is not eligible for credit recovery and must retake the full course to receive credit.
Students will be required to complete an application to request placement in a Summer School Application for credit recovery course. Consent of the student’s parent/legal guardian must be obtained prior to enrollment.
When a student has shown mastery of the credit recovery material, the student will receive credit for the course. Student grades in credit recovery courses are designed to be GPA-neutral, meaning that the student’s GPA will not be affected by the student’s grade in the course. The failing grade in the initial credit course will remain on the student’s transcript. If the student passes the credit recovery course with a 60 or higher, the passing grade will be entered as “P.” If the student does not pass, the failing grade will be entered as “NP.” Neither the “P” or “NP”
grade designation will impact the student’s GPA.
Registration for all students is May 6 – June 20 at the home school.
VirtualSC - Options for Summer Initial Credit and Credit Recovery
Requests for enrollment in VirtualSC courses must be made through the assigned School Counselor.

Students in current grades 7-10 may begin requesting summer courses on May 22, 2019.
Registration closes for all initial credit courses on May 29th. Late requests will not be accepted.
Credit Recovery options are available based on earning a failing final grade of 50-59. Registration ends for VirtualSC Credit Recovery June 5th. The final grade reported for a VirtualSC Credit Recovery course will follow the District’s grading process stated above.
