The Weekly Jr. Oiler
June 19, 2020
2020 Vision: A Memorable Year!
I am so proud of all of our students and was so excited to celebrate the 8th Grade Class yesterday. Although the ceremony wasn't a traditional one, it was unique and so much fun! The energy was electric and all the decorated cars, smiling faces, and proud families were so fun to see. I will always remember the Class of 2020 as being my first class to be with me in my first 3 years as principal. Thank you for making the time fly and for teaching me so much.
As Jr. Oilers we accomplished so much this school year. We opened our new cafeteria, almost opened our new gym (missed by 2 days), had so many student award winners in various county contests, and so much more. We improved in our technology skills and learned to be experts at "Zooming." I know we can all take what we have learned and make 2020-2021 even better!
Good luck to all the 8th Graders. Thank you and we will see the rest of you in the fall!

HBCSD Return to School Survey
HBCSD is seeking your input regarding our return to school for the 2020-2021 school year. The input from you, our HBCSD families, is an essential part of our planning process to safely open our schools. The surveys have been sent directly to parent emails beginning on June 17. The email was sent by David Rochman with the subject line: HBCSD Return to School Survey. Please check your spam folder if you do not see the email. Reminder emails will be sent until the closing date of June 26. Please use the open ended questions to provide us more detailed information about your experience and concerns, especially if you have multiple children in our schools.
The plans to safely reopen schools will continue to be developed and evolve throughout the summer as more information becomes available. Follow up information with more specific details regarding our 2020-2021 plans will be sent to families at a later date. We appreciate your input and hope you continue to be well through these uncertain times.
HBCSD Creative Visions Virtual Art Show
For 14 years, Huntington Beach City School District held its annual Creative Visions Art Show each spring at the Huntington Beach Art Center to celebrate the artistic expression of visual and performing arts of our students. Although we were unable to gather in person this year, we hope that you will join us in celebrating the creativity of our students by browsing the online art gallery, viewing performance videos, and experiencing the educational opportunities available through the Creative Visions Virtual Art Show. Enjoy!
