May 13th Pony News

Building a Brighter Future!

happy mother's day to all of our moms and their families!

Welcome back Mrs. Simpson

Jill Helbig 3rd Grade

Hey Pony Family!

I am so thankful that I got to start my teaching career at Lewisville Elementary this year! I have learned so much from so many of you and I will forever be grateful!

I was born in Chicago as the youngest of 5 kids. My family means everything to me. When I was three, my family moved to Arizona, then five years later we moved back to Chicago. Then in 2009, my family moved to Flower Mound where I graduated from FMHS in 2013. I started college at Lindenwood University, a small college near St. Louis. I went there on a bowling scholarship and started my journey in Elementary Education. I transferred back to UNT where I earned my degree in 2017. While bowling in college, I met Cole. As I’m typing this, he’s still my fiance, but when it goes in the Pony News on May 13th, he’ll be my husband! We are getting married, (or got married if you’re reading this!) on May 3rd!

Other Fun Facts:

- My dream job is to one day be a principal.

- I have three nieces and three nephews and LOVE being their aunt!

- I love sports! My favorite team is the Chicago Cubs.

Congratulations Now Mrs. Shroyer

Restorative Practices

As the end of the year approaches, it is more important than ever to continue the implementation of restorative practices. Continue intentionally doing 2 Minute Connections, 90 Second Sparks, Circles, and checking the "temperature" of the room with your Mood Meters.

The posting window will open Wednesday, May 15th @ 11:45 PM. Grades must be posted by the end of the work day on Friday, May the 17th.

  • Please remember to open the Language Arts Combined before your mark your grades as completed.
  • Please enter your comments before the posting window closes. Ensure that you have written a comment for each student in your class.
  • Finally, don’t forget to mark grades as completed.

Student of the year

Thank you so much for submitting the names for the Students of the Year. The amazing members at Valley Creek Church donated two bicycles per grade level for the Students of the Year (one for a boy and one for a girl).

Since we have two, I am going to ask you to refer one more student. If you chose a boy on the first submission, then choose a girl. If you chose a girl, then choose a boy for this submission.

Please submit your second nomination by this Thursday, since Kinder and 1st awards are on Friday.

  • Please submit your nomination using this link.
  • Below are the names of the students already nominated.
