Veterans Day 2022
On Friday November 11th, Bell Graham Elementary School will honor our local Veterans for Veterans Day 2022. This is an invitation to Veterans who are family members or friends of our students. We also welcome any Bell Graham graduates who have or are currently serving our country! Our celebration includes the posting of colors, Pledge of Allegiance, patriotic songs, poems, a play and interviews. This celebration not only honors those who have served, but helps our students to understand the impact Veterans have on our lives and our freedom.
In order to make this event a success, we would like to have the names of Veterans who will attend our celebration. A Veteran is any type of military personnel who has or is currently serving our country in any branch of the Armed Forces. A reception with light refreshments for our Veteran guests will be held in the Teacher's Lounge at 8:15 AM and the school-wide assembly will begin at 9:00 AM in the cafeteria. Please fill out and return the bottom portion of this invitation if you have a Veteran who will be attending our 11/11/22 celebration.

Holiday Market
NEW THIS YEAR! Bell Graham’s 1st Annual Holiday Market is coming December 5th - 9th. The holidays are coming, and we want to help make the season even more special for your children by giving them the opportunity to shop (in secret) for the perfect gift for Mom, Dad, grandparents, siblings, pets and other important people. More details and volunteer opportunities to come! DONATIONS NEEDED! To help make this event extra special, please drop off NEW gifts for adults, kids, and pets at Bell Graham now through November 18th.
Big Hearts Holiday Sponsorship Program
We need your help Bell-Graham! Each year Big Hearts of Fox Valley helps provide holiday gifts for kids in District 303. This year, we are excited to sponsor 3 of those children. Review the sign-up genius, select an item to purchase, label it, and bring into the office by November 10. It is a quick turn around, so get shopping! Items do not need to be wrapped, but please label them with what child (A, B,C) they go to. If no items are left to purchase, please consider donating unwrapped gifts or wrapping paper to our Big Hearts toy box located near the office. We will be outside collecting gifts and wrapping paper on Friday, Nov. 4th during the morning drop off. We hope that you will join us in our efforts to make the lives of children around us a little brighter.

Health Office
There has been an increase in RSV in the community. According to the CDC, the respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia (infection of the lungs) in children younger than 1 year of age in the United States. People infected with RSV usually show symptoms within 4 to 6 days after getting infected. Symptoms of RSV infection usually include
Runny nose
Decrease in appetite
Coughing
Sneezing
Fever
Wheezing
These symptoms usually appear in stages and not all at once. In very young infants with RSV, the only symptoms may be irritability, decreased activity, and breathing difficulties.
According to CUSD 303 absence guidelines, students must be 24 hours fever free prior to returning back to school. A fever is a temperature of 100 degrees F or greater. Students with a persistent, productive cough must remain home as well. Masking remains optional for all students.
There are steps you can take to help prevent the spread of RSV. Specifically, if you have cold-like symptoms you should
Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your upper shirt sleeve, not your hands
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
Avoid close contact, such as kissing, shaking hands, and sharing cups and eating utensils, with others
Clean frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs and mobile devices
With cold, flu and respiratory illnesses upon us here is a reminder of the Covid protocols:
Thank you for teaming with us to keep our students healthy and in school!
