The way health was like in the Middle Ages


The state of being bodily and mentally vigorous and free of disease.

Middle Ages:

the time in European history between classical antiquity and the Italian Renaissance (from about 500 a.d. to about 1350): sometimes restricted to the later part of this period (after 1100) and sometimes extended to 1450 or 1500.

3. The main people that were involved

The main people involved in the health in the Middle Ages was the patients who were sick and the main doctors to treat there patients the best way possible.

1.People believed, for example, that disease was spread by bad odors.

2.Some of the potions used to relieve pain or induce sleep during the surgery were themselves potentially lethal. One of these consisted of lettuce, gall from a castrated boar, briony, opium, henbane, and hemlock juice--the hemlock juice could easily have caused death.

This makes me think that you could die very easy for disease or illness such as a cold but now a cold does nothing to us and we have antibiotics
