WHAT IS GOOGLE DRIVE?

Google Drive is a cloud storage that allows you to store your documents, photos, videos and more online. From Drive, you can use Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Spreadsheet and many other Google compatible applications.


Google Drive is accessible on your tablet, phone or computer

CHANGE VIEW FORMAT

Click on this button in the upper-right hand corner to change the view format from grid to list view and vice versa.


Note: The logo changes when in a certain format.

CREATE & UPLOAD FILES

Use this button to create Google Docs, Slides or Spreadsheet. Furthermore, upload files from your computer, .docx, .pptx, .xcl, .pdfs, .jpgs and much more!



Note: The button will appear like the picture to the left when clicked on.

SEARCH BAR

This is a tool to search for documents or any file or folder, if you know the name. The file may come up in the recommended list at the bottom of the search.

DETAILS

Find the details of a certain file by clicking on the file and clicking on the "i" icon.


Click on Details and you will find:


- Type of File

- People who the file is shared with

- Location of the file

- Owner of the file

- Date Last Modified

- Date Created

- Size of the file

ACTIVITY

In this feature, you can find the most recent activity of a certain file or any file which relates to you in general.


To use this feature, click on the "i" icon on the upper right hand corner and click on Activity


If you would like to know the activity of a certain file, select a file and click on "i" icon and select Activity

SMARTPHONES AND TABLETS: A TUTORIAL

In order to use Google Drive on a smartphone and tablets, you must download the app from the App Store.


The features of Google Drive on the computer, smartphones and the tablets are the same. Except, smartphones do not have Google Forms or Google Drawing.


To use Google Docs, Slides or Spreadsheet, the respective apps must be downloaded.
