BACK TO SCHOOL UPDATE
Western HIlls Magnet Elemenatry
Welcome Back!
Dear Western Hills Families:
My name is Jeanne Simmons, and I am honored to be the Principal at Western Hills Magnet for the 2020-2021 school year. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago and came to Omaha to attend school and play tennis at Creighton University.
I am a proud employee of OPS for 21 years. I have been the Assistant Principal /SSL Designee at Indian Hill Elementary School, Assistant Principal of Dundee Elementary School for nine years where I also served as the Student Support Liaison, Instructional Facilitator, and Academic Data Representative. I also taught third grade at Dundee Elementary for ten years.
During the last five months, I’ve thought of this quote often:
“Sometimes we're tested. Not to show our weaknesses
but to discover our strengths."
I feel very fortunate to now be part of the Western Hills family. I know that this is a difficult time and want you to know that we are working extremely hard to follow all district guidelines. I can’t tell you enough how much I look forward to working with you and watching your children learn and grow this school year.
With much care,
Mrs. Jeanne Simmons
Principal Western Hills Magnet
