No School Monday!
Teachers have professional development, so students do not have school on Monday.
Field Trip Thursday
We are attending the Kansas City Symphony on Thursday. Please make sure your student brings a lunch in a throw-away sack (or signs up for one from school.) The Symphony is a dressy event, students are expected to wear nice clothes (nice pants/jeans/skirts/dresses and shirts are appropriate). Please make sure your student's permission slip has been returned by Wednesday, because we will leave right after school begins on Thursday.
Conferences are Oct. 28 & 29
If you haven't done so, please go to jmorehead.youcanbook.me to sign up for your conference time.
What are we learning?
Students are finishing up their first writing project, a personal narrative. It will be due this Wednesday, and students must type these on Google Drive. We are working on forming Book Clubs to have meaningful conversations about our reading. In math, we are learning about place value and decimal numbers. The teachers are partially 'flipping' math instruction, so your student has access to the content being taught at home and at school. Each student has a Blendspace account, and can re-watch the videos teachers have recorded to go over any confusing parts about the lesson. This can also be useful for parents, so you can see how your child is learning the content in math. In science, we began our first Project Lead the Way activity with our glo-germs and learning about how germs are transmitted, and how we can prevent the spread of illnesses.
