News from this week
Dear Parents,
There are a lot of important days and activities coming up. Please be sure to scroll ALL the way down as there is a lot of new information/dates in this newsletter. I don't want anyone to miss out on anything!
Most students were able to to complete their digital learning assignments on Tuesday. Please let me know if there is anything that could have been made easier. Because this is new, we try to make changes each time to make it as user friendly as possible. Thank you for your support.
Our new classroom carpet was installed on Wednesday. The students are making a conscious effort to keep it clean. It was a much needed improvement, and it looks great!
For Spring Conferences, we will have student led conferences! This gives the students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning. Students will share their grade reports, reading/writing continuums, and some writing samples with you. There will be an open window of time for you to stop in on Wednesday, February 21st for students to lead their conferences. You won't have to schedule an individual conference time if there are no concerns regarding your child's progress. I will be sending home invitations for conferences and progress reports with all updated grades on Friday, February 8th. If you would prefer to have an individual conference, please indicate that on the RSVP form and return it the following Monday. I will set up conference appointments during the week once I receive the RSVP’s.
STEAM NIGHT sign up forms are in the students Friday Folders today. Please fill these out and return ASAP. Sessions are filed on a first come first served basis.
We are starting up our Have a Heart...Fill the Cart annual drive. Please scroll down for more information.
On Thursday, February 14th students will be given the opportunity to exchange valentines. This activity is completely optional. My only request is that if students bring in Valentines they are sure to include everyone. Scroll to the bottom of the newsletter for a class list. At the end of the day, I will place bags on each students desk. Students will hand out their valentines/treats. Students will bring these home to read and enjoy. We will not have time to fill out the valentines in class. Thanks!
