A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR..........
Principals,
This upcoming week, you will have the opportunity to show your teachers throughout the week how much you appreciate them for all they have done and currently do for our scholars. I am excited to see and hear about all the engaging activities you will have for your teachers.
I also want to give all the Leadership teams a huge 'Thank you' for all of the hard work you are putting in on your campuses. The work of a leader is filled with every minute of critical thinking to create and execute great action plans successfully! Your hard work is duly noted.
Accelerated instruction under the SSI requirement is happening on each campus for 5th and 8th grade re-testers. Ensure that you, your Assistant Principals and your CIC's are monitoring the implementation by visiting intervention groups regularly and making instructional adjustments where you see necessary. The feeder goal is to ensure to make as many gains as possible to ensure our scholars are successful as retesting quickly approaches! Parents should have been already been notifed. Please know that additional resources are available on MyData Portal.
By now, secondary principals have received master schedule comments on revisions that need to be made. Please ensure that you make necessary adjustments to your master schedules according to the feedback given.
Extended observation and Summative Conferences are upon us. Ensure that you and your Assistant Principals have a tight plan when it comes to getting important TEI actions completed. Remember to track SLO accomplishment for all teachers in schoolnet as well. Every campus is expected to complete TEI requirements by the due date.
Here's to a great week of teaching and learning!

CAMPUS CLIMATE & PARENT SURVEY INFORMATION
District parent surveys have been out since April 10 and will be completed by May 31. Random parents are called and asked a list of questions. The number of parents contacted depends on how many students you have on campus.
The new date for the district campus climate survey to begin will be May 8. The survey will run through May 19. Highly encourage ALL your campus staff to take the survey.
PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING
For the month of May, our feeder will focus on RECOGNITION OF ACCOMPLISHMENT as our FIFTH principle.
RECOGNITION OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
If we expect students to put forth and sustain high levels of effort, then we must motivate them by recognizing their accomplishments regularly. Clear recognition of authentic accomplishment is a hallmark of an effort-based school. This recognition can take the form of celebrations of work that meets standards or intermediate progress benchmarks In route to the standards. Progress points are articulated so that, regardless of entering performance level, every student can meet real accomplishment criteria often enough to be recognized frequently. Recognition of accomplishment can be tied to opportunities to participate in events that matter to students and their families.

THOMAS JEFFERSON COLLEGIATE CORNER
It was a packed house at the Dallas ISD job fair this week. Dozens of applicants stopped by the TJ P-TECH ECHS table to drop off resumes and discuss potential job opportunities. Thomas Jefferson P -Tech ECHS students were selected to represent Dallas ISD collegiate academies this week. Several students conducted interviews and were featured in a news story on Telemundo, one the schools’ Industry Partners. Students had an opportunity to showcase their speaking skills during an interview with Telemundo’s News Anchor, Ramon Diaz. Students shared their first year experiences and expectations as Thomas Jefferson P-Tech ECHS students. The Telemundo staff was extremely impressed with the young visionaries of TJ ECHS.
