Message for April 6-10 - Self-Awareness and our Upstairs Brain/Downstairs Brain
This distance learning can be so stressful for both students AND adults. It's easy to get frustrated and have trouble seeing the solution. When we are calm and using our upstairs(analytical/learning) brain, we can access learning and reason. When we are angry, upset, or frustrated, we are using the downstairs (emotional) part of our brain and learning is elusive. If we can become self-aware and have strategies to stay calm, learning can be much easier...and more fun. Check out the video below. When you're finished, find someone in your family to discuss what you learned and brainstorm some self-calming strategies!
Your Wolfsville Staff Misses You All!
Even though we are apart, teachers, support staff, and front office are working very hard to bring you learning from a distance. It is truly a team effort. So reach out to a staff member if you need any help. We are all in this together!
