Learn to successfully flip a lesson using a great website that makes it easy no matter what your subject area. Be sure to wear your flip flops.

Collaborate & Engage With Edmodo
Edmodo is a secure online platform for collaboration within your classes and a great way to share information with students, parents, and colleagues. Join us for an engaging session learning how to use - and utilize - social networking for school stuff! Feel free to bring lesson planning materials, calendars, etc., that you might want to share with your classes - electronic form is best.

The Troubled Teen
Teachers will gain insight into a topic that is relevant at every roster change: “troubled” students. The session will provide opportunities for teachers to share real life or hypothetical troubles in small group sessions and brainstorm ways to improve relationships in those scenarios.

Technology in Athletics

Using technology can help you provide meaningful instruction/coaching to your athletes as well as promote them and your team. It will be helpful to have your schedule and roster saved on your H: drive.

Google It! on your Google Website
Communicate with students and parents through your own Google website. We will use our session time to view teacher examples and then will set up your website, so bring electronic files you would want to include if they are ready (syllabus, calendar, important documents, helpful resources, website links, etc.). Time will also be spent showing you how to quickly and easily maintain the site through the year.

Memes & Other Fun Writing Activities
In this session, you will learn about using memes and other interesting web resources to promote cross-curricular reading and writing. Our students like to laugh and argue. We will view and sample web resources and classroom techniques that will harness these "likes" in order to promote reading and writing across content areas.

Socrative?
Socrative is a student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of educational exercises and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets. In this session, you will learn how to create survey questions, quizzes, tickets out, etc. by employing this easy-to-use technology.

Boredom Busters
Get students out of their desks, awake, and involved in learning! In this session we will explore different ways to get students out of their desks and moving around the room while they interact with each other and the curriculum. Please bring ideas of lessons that might need some inspiration, and be prepared to share your own favorite ways to get students out of their seats.

Not An E-Moment Too Soon: Getting Out of the Fishbowl
The associated press recently published research related to attention spans. The average attention span in 2000? 12 seconds. The average attention span in 2012? 8 seconds. The average attention span of a goldfish? 9 seconds. Come to this session to gain valuable tools for engaging students quickly without a lot of prep time and get out of the fishbowl! This is a BYOD event.
