The Evian Conference

Important Facts
- It happened from July 6th to July 15th in Evian, France.
- This was convened by FDR.
- This conference was held to help with the Jewish refugee issue.
What Happened
Once Germany began taking Austria, FDR help this conference to help immigrate Austrian and German Jews out of the country to other countries. None of the countries wanted to help. They did accomplish one thing which was the establishment of the Intergovernmental Committee on Refugees (ICR). Their goals are to help refugees settle somewhere safe ,but none of the countries involved in it helped fund it. Basically nothing really got done at this conference.
