EMS Counselor's Corner

February 2016

Random Acts of Kindness Week

Imagine a world. Where people look out for each other. Where we all pay it forward. Where success is measured in selfless acts. Where kindness is the philosophy of life.

During the week of February 15th, we will be encouraging students to engage in random acts of kindness for their peers, school, and community. To help track the ripple effect of kindness, students will pass on their acts with the use of a "kindness boomerang". Please encourage your students to take part in this week.

Career Awareness Week

The last week in February we will have activities during students' Eagle Time to get them thinking about their future and possible career paths. Many students wait too long and never adequately plan out their educational and career goals. During this week students will have the opportunity to explore different occupations so they get a sense of what interests them as well the chance to identify their own strengths and weaknesses. Exposing students to careers helps them understand the relevance of what they are learning and stay on track throughout school.

Visit ohiomeansjob.org (k-12 students) with your student for the opportunity to explore careers at home.
