A Message from Kevin Beckner that Warrants Repeating
On Monday morning our Progress Reports will go live for parents--THANK YOU for all your hard work, dedication, and commitment to Parkway children and families through this process!
Teachers, thank you so much for all your hard work in giving our families meaningful feedback. It is ultimately you who our families want to hear from, and it's your care, concern, and investment in our kids that makes all the difference. You've put an amazing amount of effort and energy into making sure that families get valuable and specific feedback about each child's progress. You've worked to understand the expectations and indicators. You've teamed together to determine the evidence that shows students' progress. You've had conversations together around so many individual children. You've invested the time to make sure the feedback families receive is excellent. And there are so many more things you have done through this process over not just this year, but the last several.
There aren't words to express how amazing all your efforts have been, so I'm left with only "thank you!"
Thank you to those teachers and coordinators who came together over the last year and a half to develop our expectations and indicators for each grade and subject.
Thank you to those who created more efficient ways to give feedback along the way that matches the new progress report.
Thank you to those who led development with your colleagues and helped others design better ways to understand and give feedback about student learning.
Thank you to our amazing Instructional Coaches and Math Facilitators who have worked tirelessly to support all of us through this process.
Thank you to our Principals, Assistant Principals, and Interns, who have put in so much effort to communicate to our families and field questions about the new progress reports.
Thank you to our dedicated, tireless Technology department who has been flexible, supportive, and creative, paying so much attention to detail to make sure everything works as expected.
Thank you to our passionate and wonderful Communications department who has created videos, websites, set texts, e-blasts, and have been so thoughtful in their plan to communicate with families.
Again, "thank you" doesn't come close to capturing your commitment, care, dedication, and investment; until our language gives us something stronger, that's what I am left with: THANK YOU!
