Library Media Connection : 5

I will be making a large book order in the next week, probably on the early dismissal day next week. If there are any titles that have been helpful for you in instruction but we do not have them in our library, please fill out the form below so I can purchase them for you. Also, if there are certain subject areas that you find lacking, please inform me of those.

We are currently editing and updating our 900's section (biographies especially and history), as well as getting a new set of "neighborhood helpers" - career books for our younger students.

A reminder...

You (and your students) can access Alexandria from your computers in your classroom to see if the book you want is available.

In Internet Explorer, click on the favorites button (star icon), and there should be a link to Alexandria. Click on that, and you can access the same information without coming to the library.

Don't get me wrong, I want to see you, but there is a more convenient option for us busy teachers if you just want to check on a book or two!

What's Your Favorite?

Every week or two, we change out a display in the library for "Catch of the Day," where we highlight different subjects and encourage reading in areas that tend to be passed over by students (history! science!).

I would like to have a Catch of the Day staff favorite display coming up in the next few weeks. I think students will enjoy checking out their current and past teachers favorite books. Just fill out the form below with your name and favorite book(s) that you enjoyed as a child or reading to students now.

Brain Pop

I am renewing our subscription to Brain Pop for Feb 2014 - Feb 2015. I am glad the Birthday Book Club has been very successful this year, as the funds will be a tremendous help in paying for this $2,000 resource that is used frequently across all grade levels. I expect the username and password will remain the same, I will contact you all if there is a change.

Thank you for reading!
