Carbohydrates come from some of the food you eat. There are two different types of carbohydrates: simple and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates are made up of 1 or 2 sugars. Which means they break down too quickly, and the energy it gives you doesn't last long. Complex carbohydrates are made up of 3 or more sugars, Which means the energy it gives you stays with you longer than simple carbohydrates does. Carbohydrates are the most important because they give you energy, which keeps your body running. Also carbohydrates have carbs in them and you need carbs in your body so vitamins can be absorbed. Therefor carbohydrates help out some of the other nutrients.
