Mark's Monday Morning Memo
May 16, 2016
New Staff Member
Congratulations to Jenny Gilbertson who will join Rice Lake for the 2016-2017 school year. Jenny will be become part of the 5th grade team and she is familiar to us as she was a student teacher here and taught 3rd grade during the 2014-2015 school year. This past year she has been teaching 3rd grade in Ohio, I know you will warmly welcome her. In the next few weeks I hope to announce the special education resource teacher, 0.3 speech teacher, and the 0.5 EL teacher I am working to hire.
Ceremony for Kira Redlinger
There will be a planting ceremony in honor of Kira Redling this Friday, May 20, 2016, at 1:30 pm. We will be planting a Quick Fire Hydrangea tree in the front of the school. Mr. Dylong's and Mrs. Lanners' classes, along with Kira's family, will be part of this ceremony.
Apex Fun Run
It's Apex Fun Run week! Thank you for your support of this fundraiser. I appreciate, and I know the PTO also appreciates, your support of the fun run. Because of the success of this event, the PTO continues to support our school with resources for our school, classrooms, and students. The success of the fun run has allowed the PTO to eliminate other fundraisers. The forecast for Friday is partly cloudy and 72 degrees! Go Roadrunners!
Thank You Band Members
Thank you to our older Rice Lake band members who dusted off their flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpet, and French horn and joined the 5th grade band members at last Friday morning's concert. I know our students enjoy seeing Rice Lake staff members sharing their musical talent and skills!
