Mrs. Wilson's Language Arts Class

December 7-11

6th Grade

This week students should have finished up their books by Tuesday and started working on their project, which is making a timeline of their book. The timeline needs to include all of the story elements of the book. The project is due this following Tuesday by the end of class.

We did a few mini lessons this week as well. We talked about fixing run-on sentences. I have been noticing a pattern of this being an issue. We also talked about character traits and how they are different than physical traits.

The annotated text for this week was a debate titled, "Should Kids Get Paid to Do Chores?" It was interesting to read the annotations on this one. I could usually tell if the student receives an allowance by their opinion annotations. If they don't and ask for one now, I apologies.

We did a few mini lessons this week as well. We talked about fixing run-on sentences. I have been noticing a pattern of this being an issue. With this, we talked about how simply re-reading what we have written can help us catch a lot of our errors.
