Family Faith Sharing

Dinnertime Conversation Starters:

  • As a family, discuss sacramental celebrations you have attended. How did the celebrations help you experience God’s love? How did they help you grow in faith and develop your relationship with the Church?
  • What significant transitions or changes are your family facing? Explain to your child how the sacraments will provide the grace to help the family cope with these changes.

Sacrament Memory Box

Sacrament Memory Box

The sacraments are an important part of our Catholic life. Make a memory box with your family members in which to keep mementos of sacramental celebrations. Invite each family member to make his or her own memory box and encourage using the box as a tool for guiding reflective prayer time.

Directions

1. Wrap a shoebox with craft paper.

2. Decorate the box using markers, crayons, paints, and stickers.

3. Label the box with your name and date of birth.

4. Place inside the box mementos from each sacrament you have received. Add new memory items as additional sacraments are experienced.

5. Keep the box in a special, but accessible, place. Look through the items in the box and use them as a tool for guiding your reflective prayer time.
