Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome back to school for another exciting half term! This half term is always busy with rehearsals for the Nativity and Young Voices as well as being a term that is crammed full of learning in the classroom so please ensure that you keep an eye on newsletters and emails so that you don't miss anything.

I start this week with the news that Mrs Hey will be leaving us at the end of next week to take up a role working with Apprenticeships nearer to home. Mrs Hey has been an integral part of our team here at Kirk Fenton, covering almost every class during the week and being invaluable with the interventions she leads in Key Stage 1 and EYFS. She will be greatly missed but we wish her every good luck in her new role. We are currently advertising for a replacement and will update you once the position is filled. If you would like to donate to a leaving gift for Mrs Hey, please speak to the school office.

You will see further down the newsletter a poster for the Village RJC Christmas Collection. This is in conjunction with a charity called Mission Christmas that collects toys for disadvantaged children so that they receive a gift at Christmas. Our Young Voices choir will be singing at the event and we would love to have a great turn out from the school to support the collection on 7th December.

Finally, please can you check that your child has a coat at school each day, particularly those that come on the school buses or in cars. Whilst it's not yet particularly cold, the children do go outside to play in drizzle and wet weather so can end up in damp clothes for the day.

Have a lovely weekend,

Karen Williams

Y5/Y6 Anti-Bullying Workshop Performance, Thursday 16th November

The second week back after half term is anti-bullying week and we are delighted to have the Konflux Theatre company coming into school on Thursday 16th November to work with our children in year 5 and year 6. They will be doing workshops with the classes, looking at how issues can be resolved through support from peers and adults. This will build towards a performance that parents and carers are warmly invited to. This will start at 14:50 in the school hall.
