Life History
Bog turtles begin to breed April to early June. Two to three eggs are laid from June to July and are left on their own.
Hibernation
During winter bog turtle hibernate in deep area in bogs, where they will dig themselves in mud from 6 to 18 inch deep. Immature bog turtles dont hibernate until they are 2 to 3 years old.
Enviroment
Bog turtles rely on an a large amount of grassy or mossy cover and high humidity. Open sunny areas where the turtles can layout to raise their body temperature also are important.
