Voluntary only - S & C is not Mandatory
These sessions will be strength & conditioning and are not mandatory. The session will be for one hour. According to the country Health order we cannot do sports specific skills next week. We will not use the weight room next week as we continue to work on safety procedures, but will do body weight exercises along with agility and conditioning.
Strength and Conditioning Notes
- If your child has been around anyone that has Covid 19 symptoms or if they have symptoms themselves... THEY SHOULD STAY HOME!!! This is critical!!!
- These are voluntary workouts, they are not mandatory. Don't feel like you have to jump through hoops to get your athlete here.
- Strength and Conditioning is for all sports - Volleyball, Cross Country & Football
- Athletes will be dropped off at the stadium and will be picked up at the stadium. Athletes will not use the locker rooms during S&C workouts.
- Athletes will be required to wear a mask. They can take the mask off when running or actively in a drill. When they are waiting to do a drill they will need to have their mask on.
- Athletes will be distanced in warm-ups and drills.
- Athletes will have to bring their own water bottle. Try to have a water bottle that will be plenty for the one hour session. We will have water to refill if needed.
- Athletes will be broken into groups and will stay with those groups throughout the S&C week.
- Parents or any other visitors are not allowed to watch Strength and Conditioning or any other practices. Watching includes in the stadium, from the concession stand area or even up top by the bus loop.
Coaches Suggestions
- Wear running shoes, not cleats for S&C.
- Hydrate before coming to Strength & Conditioning. (both day(s) before and hours before).
- Big water bottle, ideally big enough to not need a refill - NO SHARING OF WATER BOTTLES
- No milk for breakfast. Have a breakfast (toast, fruit, bagel, oatmeal, etc.), but drink water or juice.
Drop off and Pick up
- BCMS map - drop off will be the Red line bus loop on the attached BCMS campus map below.
- Girls will be dropped off on the bus loop by the cafeteria and go straight to the grass field.
- Boys will be dropped off at the stadium and go straight to the turf field.
- Pick up will be the same bus loop (Red line on map). All athletes will be distanced in the parking lot until picked up. The parking lot will be blocked off during S&C.
