* To the Bride and Groom: First and foremost, congratulations! Let's talk for a minute. I would like to take a second to explain my position on weddings. Thank you in advance for reading!
Here goes: I am not a traditional wedding photographer, and never will be. My style is extremely artistic, free-spirited, candid, unique, and very creative. Please keep this in mind! If you're looking for standard group photos against manicured backgrounds, I may not be the person you're seeking. I will shoot an entire wedding, but am happiest as a second-shooter -capturing moments that you may not have even been aware of. I'm there, photographing expressions, and I'm there in those rare, moments where the wind catches a veil and lifts it into the air. Moments where unexpected hilarity ensues, and priceless pictures are the result. Moments of strong emotion, between all people. The moments, those real moments, that make up your day.
If you are an open-minded, couple, and are looking for candidness, photojournalism, and something different (see the example images below) then let's discuss. I love an outdoor wedding in an interesting place. Or a unique, wedding where creative freedom is welcomed. When I do shoot a wedding, my process is to capture not only the intimacy of your union as a newly married couple, but also that behind-the-scenes, no one is looking, essence. The little, things that make up this journey we call -Life. I collect that greatness, a greatness that you took over a year to plan, and in post-processing, I enhance it into something unforgettable. This is my very favorite part of being an artist! This is why I do what I do.
The Details: I fully edit the best in set, and provide you with approximately 100 or so images. I do not charge by the hour for Photoshop, like most photographers (I've seen up to $150 per hour for this service!) No. That is all built into your rate. My goal is to keep my rate affordable, yet fair, as your wedding day is extremely important, and I am only one person. Post-production (editing) is a big part of what makes my work, my work. My craft. Because of this, I do not proof. Raw images and/or proofs will never be made available. I actually delete as I reject images that are not to my standard -which is quite high. My message here, in not-so-many-words, is that I'm an artist, and photography is my medium. You will not see the unfinished, painting. Thanks again for reading, and hopefully, for understanding!
I will scout the area surrounding your ceremony, far in advance to find the best spots for photo opportunities. This is so important! In the photo above, I had discovered an abandoned barn behind the venue this couple was married in. I look for interesting, natural backgrounds, and shoot, candidly. This day was sprinkled with rain, so I grabbed my trusty, red umbrella (which is always in the hatch of my truck) and created an unforgettable image.
This couple needed no scouting. They were married barefoot, next to a waterfall at the Ford Estate in Dearborn. Their pictures are just gorgeous, and I enjoyed shooting this wedding so, very much. I was filthy, afterwards, from crouching, climbing, rolling around, and doing pretty much anything I had to do to capture the very best. I enjoyed every minute of it. I am brave in post production, and this is an example of the artistic freedom, given to me by the bride and groom.
A stunning bride in a vintage context. I tend to shoot like a photojournalist, rather than in a posed 'bride staring at her bouquet' style. Your wedding is unique. You are not a number on a list of weddings I must shoot. Not in my book. I literally chronicle your day from beginning, when you're getting ready, to end, when you're cutting the cake, and dancing with your father or mother. I have an eye for detail, and know what not to miss: Like the look on a groom's face as he watches his bride walking towards him.
Sweetness, all around. This was a $125 Mini, shot here at my home. Wonderfully candid, fun (and pretty adorable) images resulted. My clients were as happy with their session as they look!
Themed Engagement Session. A beautiful couple, who are now married (yes! I shot their wedding, too) asked me to do a fun, urban, and themed engagement shoot for them. Here we have a redheaded, Marilyn and a classic James Dean.
This was a rather exciting, secret, proposal shoot. My client and I brainstormed ways for me to shoot his proposal to his girlfriend, without her knowledge (at first). Clearly, she said yes!
I'm Around on Weekends. Yep, Sundays, too!
I am available to shoot on most days of the week, but with the realization that everyone is at work during that time, I understand that weekends are usually best. I'm available during these hours to accommodate you!
Regarding my ongoing, Mini: We'll shoot here, outdoors, with your session taking about an hour, or less, of your time. Concerning other photographic services (including Photoshop i.e. retouching/restoration, nip/tuck, image manipulation, and all of the goodies) -locations and prices vary, depending on your needs or wishes. This is all about you! I promise to deliver magic. I'm incapable of nothing but the very best, am a Photoshop veteran, and am extremely passionate about my craft.
Last but far from least, I have a partnership with a phenomenal makeup artist, whom I trust, explicitly. Ask me about integrating, talented, Cassie Victor's stunning, work into your session!
For me, maternity means Goddess Status. As a mommy myself to one remarkable, little girl, I know that nothing is as special as this time in your life. It is also a time when we aren't feeling our normal, pretty selves. I can help change that, and show you just how beautiful you really are. We'll wrap you in a long flowing scarf (I have a few colors in my collection), seat you, outdoors in nature and in a comfortable vintage chair, then... goddess! My moms-to-be all love their elegant, soft images. Bonus! I will cover your makeup fee on this one as a gift, if you'd like makeup, mommy!
*Makeup must be done by Cassie Victor for me to cover the fee. Thank you!
These days, gradation photos are almost like a modeling composite. Long gone, are stuffy studios, boring backdrops, one hand under the chin, smile and -click! Things have have really changed, for the better! This session is so much fun for all in involved. We can head over to Belle Isle, and find gorgeous spaces to shoot in.
You're a unit, you're close, sometimes you're silly, you're always real, in a nutshell -you're YOU. When I photograph your family, I work to capture you just being yourselves. Playing, interacting, and living life. I go for candid, fun images, that depict who this family really is. Yes, some are traditional portraits that you can send to Grandma during the Holidays, but the best in set are the photos that make you laugh, and say, "Yep! That's us!"

Self-Exploration Session with a beautiful, and quite fierce, woman. This is an example of both fashion photography, and Photoshop, or post-production, skill. In PS, I took her right out of 2016, and delicately placed her into the 1940s, with a Vintage Noir look, and feel.
Are you thinking of modeling, and need a photographer to help work up a fantastic composite? I'm your girl. Together, we can create perfection, and have a blast during the whole process.
Acting and modeling feel the same, yet require a different set of images. We need, clean, clear, photos. Some simple, and some dramatic. We will meet, and talk at length about the style you're looking for, and what you're hoping to accomplish with your acting resume.
Ooo La La!
Sorry, guys. This session is for women, only. Thanks for understanding!
