Vista's Got Talent Showcase is March 21st
Vista's Got Talent is a formal event, showcasing the excellent academic programs and amazing talent where Vista Unified School students will get the important experience of performing in a highly refined atmosphere. You'll get a chance to walk the red carpet and be interviewed by student press while student paparazzi snap beautiful pictures of you in your formal attire. After the reception, enjoy our main event located in the state of the art Mission Vista High School Theater!
Ticket includes finger food and beverages served at the reception party tent before the show. Additional snacks and beverages will be available for purchase during intermission, hosted by MVHS ASB Students.
The event will be sponsored by the Vista Unified Council of PTAs as a fundraiser. The funds collected for this event will be used by the PTA to promote ongoing parent engagement activities across the district.

MVHS Community Engagement Center
Parents: Did you know that we created a place just for YOU? The MVHS Community Engagement Center offers you school and community resources, computer internet access, parent involvement information, support and workshops. The Community Engagement Center is open from 7:30-3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and is located in the Administration Building. Our Community Liaison, Mrs. Mora, is bilingual and is accessible to all families. Please stop by and say hello, all are welcome! Learner-Centered Highlights Around Campus this Week
Students collaborate to solve complex problems in Mrs. Eiter's technology-rich Integrated Math 1 class.
Spanish 3 students engage in fun, interactive escape room problems in target language in Mrs. Amatore's class.
Students in Mrs. Mariscal's AP Calculus class work interdependently and play "Pass the Pen" to solve rigorous problems.

Academic Planning
If students have not yet entered their Academic Plan courses within Aeries student Portal please complete ASAP Academic Success page. Alternates and exceptions resolved during annual Counselor/Student meetings.

Students, please be aware that starting with the 2020-21 school year, VUSD Board Policy restricts Unscheduled/Free Period to Seniors only! Keep this in mind for upcoming course selection.

- Seniors: The Mira Costa Application Workshop will be Tuesday, March 10th and 9am. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, March 3rd. Come by the Career Center to sign up; you must participate in the campus tour on March 24th.
- We will have a Mira Costa Ambassador on campus Wednesdays from 2:00-330pm to assist you with your application or if you have questions regarding the different programs at Mira Costa.
- Scholarships! Don’t forget to submit your scholarship applications! Local scholarships are available and deadlines are coming up. Make sure you check out the Scholarship Bulletin for updates!
- Juniors: Hispanic Scholarship Fund Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) is approaching! YLI is a free, five-day, overnight, college empowerment conference for Latino high school juniors held at the University of Southern California (USC). If you are interested see Mr. Faraimo in the career center. Check out the link for more information

Scholarships
In support of the dual magnet status of Mission Vista HS, the PTSA is pleased to award two $500 scholarships for arts and communications and science and technology. The deadline to submit an application is April 12, 2020. Full details and the application form are available here.

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Timberwolves Foundation fundraiser, which will be held March 14, 2020.
A Night of Comedy and Magic will take place once again this year at the Vista Optimist Club.
