Solar Energy
I think that we should use solar panels more often because they're natural, and we don't have to dig up holes in the ground or hurt the earth.
Water Energy (Hydropower)
Persuasive Paragraph-Solar Energy
*That 27 years of world wide electrical energy use would equal only 1-2 days of the same use of solar energy?
*Also, Texas has more solar energy potential than any other state in the U.S.
*The earth receives about 1,366 watts of solar energy per square meter everyday.
*The amount of solar power wasted is 99.9 percent.
I think that we should be using this type of energy because it doesn't produce any waste or trash. 43% of U.S energy comes from burning fuel, and I think it lets up a lot of gasses and other fuel into the air, that just pollutes the earth. Whereas solar power doesn't hurt the earth or let out any fuels.
Pros and Cons
1. It's renewable energy
2. Very environmental
3. You can save money
Cons
1. Solar panels are very expensive
2. The materials can be rare in nature or pricey
3. The panels can sometimes indirectly cause
pollution (There is nothing that is
risk free)
The cost of solar energy is high... about 18,000-40,000 dollars (3-7 kilowatts). The cost can be unreachable. Then, for the power inverter, it's another 1,000-3,000 dollars. Another reason why people might not be using it is because their location might not be right. For example, I would love for our house to have solar panels, except for the fact that there's a tree covering most of the roof, so it would be a big waste of money.
We should really start using renewable energy because we are basically wasting our renewable resources right now. If we just think about how much sunlight, wind, and water we get everyday, and think about how we could transform this into energy for power, heat, and light, all of this could add up to a great use of energy. But instead we mostly burn coal for energy.
Not the best choice in my opinion.
Though we are trying to use renewable energy more, I think that we could try harder.
