For Your Reading Pleasure...
I've been finding some really great reads lately! I want to make sure I share them with you, but don't want to overrun the daily BB with tons of links. I figured this was the best way to share, and then you can browse at your leisure. Enjoy!
Why Children Aren't Behaving and What You Can Do About It
This was a great read from the NPR site. It addresses the trends that are going on at home with parents, and what suggestions are for them to try to help with challenging behaviors. There are some things in here that might help us to address student behavior here in school - especially the part about consequences. I know that's something that has been brought up several times.

A Few Ideas for Conferring
If you don't follow the Two Writing Teachers blog...you should! (If you go to the post, there's a place to follow on the right side of the page). They have excellent posts throughout the year, and many of them don't just focus on writing. This one is all about conferring, and since it's something we've been working on all year, I thought I would share. Of course, these are mostly transferrable strategies that can be used for math as well.
ICYMI (In Case You Missed It)
Irene Parisi's "TGIM" Smore this week is all about transition and has some great articles, video's and links. Check it out!
The Difference Between Interventions and Accommodations
This chart has a great comparison of Interventions and Accommodations. It is really meant for parents, but it's a handy tool. Many of your students come to you with accommodations - either through a 504 or an IEP. It's good to know what these can look like in practice.
There are also several other links embedded in the page with excellent explanations. I've broken them out below.
