SC Book Award Program

Everyone in grades 1-5 can choose to participate in the SC Book Award Program, but it is not required. Mrs. Price will explain the program at the beginning of the school year and will book talk the books to get the students excited about reading them.

Students in grades 1-2 will read from the 2017-2018 Picture Book Nominee list. Students in grade 3 will be allowed to choose up to 8 titles from the Picture Book Nominee list and the remainder of the titles must be chosen from the Children's Book Award list.

Reading Goals

Students can achieve the reading goals at anytime during the school year. Students will be given a reading log at the beginning of the year to keep track of the titles that they have read. Parents or teachers will have to initial beside each reading goal and the student will have to fill out a Book Award Form below for each title read. After each goal is achieved, students can show the reading log to Mrs. Price or Mrs. Howard to receive a prize.
