Children should bring in their donation form and money from Monday 5 December.
Be in to win some great prizes. There is a spot prize for each class, a team prize for the people who make a big effort and a prize for one class. Bring your forms and money to be in the draw. St Brigid’s School Picnic, Waikanae Pool - 12 December
Our annual school picnic will be held on Monday 12 December at the Waikanae Pool, 60 Ngarara Rd, Waikanae, from 10.30am until 1.30pm. There is another school booked from 2.00pm.
History of our picnic:
The school picnic has been an annual end-of-year event for nearly 30 years and is a wonderful day out for students, families and staff. Waikanae Pool has safe, fenced grounds, beautiful lawns and trees to picnic and play amongst, and a variety of pools to cater for toddlers and swimmers of all levels.
How it works:
On picnic day - school is closed
This is a school day and our hope is that all students and as many families as possible travel out to Waikanae for a 10.30am entry to the pool.
If the weather at Waikanae Pool is too wet on the day, the picnic will be cancelled and school will be open as normal. If it is cancelled, we will communicate with parents by 8.00am via email and the school FaceBook page.
All children under 8 years of age MUST have an adult who is specifically looking after them. This is a rule set by the pool.
Parents make their own family's transport arrangements to get to and from the pool - whether in your own car or carpooling with friends. There is no bus booked by the school.
If you have any spare seats in your car and would be happy to take an extra child, we would be grateful if you would please email the class teacher so that they can link you up with any other children in the class who require rides.
Bring your own food and drinks, however, we will be running a sausage sizzle fundraiser at lunch time. The pool also has a small shop onsite for cold drinks and nibbles.

Child under 5 years - $1.80
Adult - $5.00
One adult with an under 5 year old - $1.80

Year 8 Camp 2023 Ice Block Fundraiser and School Picnic Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser
Our Year 8 camp will be taking place Tuesday 14 February to Friday 17 February 2023.
Lemonade Ice Blocks Fundraiser
The Year 7s will be selling lemonade ice blocks for the last time this Friday 9 December to fundraise for Year 8 camp.
The options for ice blocks will be $1 for a small ice block (Junior) and $2 for a large ice block.
These will be sold outside Room 12 from 12:40pm - 1:00pm. Make sure you bring money to school if you would like to buy an ice block at lunchtime. Remember it is summer, so an ice block would be especially good to keep cool on a hot summer's day!
School Picnic Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser
We will also be running a lunch time sausage sizzle fundraiser at the school picnic on Monday 12 December as a fundraiser for Year 8 camp.
We would like to thank our school community for all your support with these fundraisers.
