Valley LEAH Happenings
Fall 2014
What's going on?
This fall, the homeschool group has been busy with many activities, both educational and downright FUN! The younger set has enjoyed time together at play dates organized by Scott Hall and Sheryl Wilcox. Kids of all ages have gone around the roller rink more than a few times! We had a trip to the Cider Mill in Endicott and to the apple orchard in Troy. Meanwhile, we're holding interesting book discussions with students of all ages, and even had a movie night to go along with one of our selected books. Some of our teens took part in a shed building workshop; check out the picture below to see their handiwork!
It's not too late for you and your family to get involved in the group's activities. Check out the calendar of events, and make plans to join us soon!

Completed Shed
Thanks to Mr. Steve Crain for leading this group of teens in building the shed you see here!
Cider Mill Field Trip
More than 40 folks watched them make donuts & cider!
All hands on deck!
It takes quite a crew to transform the scenery from a blank canvas (or from last year's play) to the new scene.
For some Homeschoolers, the Play's the Thing!
For several months, about 30 actors and actresses, including three parents, have been diligently memorizing lines, learning stage direction, and getting to know their characters in the upcoming production of This Way to Christmas. The play comes from a book written by Ruth Sawyer; adapted and directed by Ruby Everson. When those involved are offstage, they've been busy creating scenery, collecting and constructing props, and working out all the details needed to make this presentation a great success. Come to the North Waverly Chapel to one of the performances-- Friday, December 5 at 6pm or Saturday, December 6 at 1pm, and show your support for these hard-working students and families!
