News and Notes
- Tuesday, March 2nd: Earthcapades Virtual Water Assembly. Sponsored for us by the City of Hillsboro. K-3 is at 1 pm (login into class google meets); 4-6 is at 2 pm (login into class Google meets). This is a LIVE assembly with jugglers and participation with the presenters. It is about 45 minutes long. Join if you can!!
- Kindergarten registration for 2021-2022 begins on Monday, March 1st. Registration for all grade levels begins on this day. An Orenco specific Kindergarten site will be shared in a few weeks for more information about Kindergarten.
- Meal distribution changes begin March 1-March 19. Many pick-up times will be different, so families are encouraged to review the walk zone and bus delivery stop lists (we are on page 18 for Orenco) for the schedule. See hsd.k12.or.us/nutrition for more information. On Mar. 29, meal delivery will cease. Students attending hybrid can pick up meals when they are on campus and students participating in CDL only can request weekly meals.
- In preparation for hybrid learning, one adjustment we are making is having our Life Skills buses use the curb space along 71st Avenue for drop-off. The handicap parking spot will remain. The existing parking spaces along 71st Ave will be "no parking" during school hours. This has been approved by the City of Hillsboro.

Thank you to Robyn Bruun and Erin Stafford who led the Art Literacy night event on Friday, Feb 26th. We had 98 computer participants in the webinar and almost 300 people that signed up! The video can be seen here if you would like to watch the art lesson on your own time. This was the first time we tried a webinar and it worked really well, but I feel bad that we didn't get to see everyone's faces like in a meeting. (Pics below) Some people thought this made it nice, too!

Booster News
We are participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember again this year that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and 25% of every purchase goes right back to our school. The exciting part is that you can select any piece of artwork from home! You can use art from this project, a piece from earlier in the year, or create something new. Just click on the link below, click the "upload" button, select a piece of artwork, search for your child's name, and start shopping. You can upload additional pieces and save them in a digital family gallery. Have fun creating and shopping! to turn your masterpieces into beautiful keepsakes. Free shipping when you select Ship to School before March 26th.
