FIS Footloose Fundraiser Event
We are excited to announce our Spring Fundraiser, FARRAGUT FOOTLOOSE! which will be a dance-a-thon taking place on April 1st, for both in person and virtual students. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for playground equipment, and to have fun while doing so!
We will be using 99 Pledges, as well as the paper form attached to accept donations. Students can be pledged per minute (maximum: 30 minutes) danced OR with flat donations.
We have some fun incentives for participating and are excited to try something new this spring! Below you will find the incentive structure for in person students. Virtual families - please see the attached letter for incentives.
We are encouraging all classes to have a theme and signature dance move, as well as dress up the day of the event, consistent with their class theme.
We will also be offering a shout out during the event for $5, and a song request for $10.

Best Learning Environment Input for 2021-2022 School Year
Each spring of the year we make plans for the transition of children going to the next grade level. It is important for us to continue to be able to give you an opportunity to provide input regarding your child’s placement. The “non-request” is specific to homeroom only. (Please note – making a “non-request” is optional, and placement decisions are the responsibility of the principal.)
We do not accept any parent request(s) for any particular teacher.
We are willing to consider any parent’s request for a child NOT to be assigned to a particular homeroom teacher. In order for any “non-request” to receive consideration, it must conform to the following requirements:
- Parents of student(s) must pick up non-request forms by buzzing the office at the front entrance of FIS from 10:00 – 2:00, March 24th - April 1st. Once the form has been completed, it should be dropped off in a sealed envelope in the box at the front entrance of FIS NO LATER THAN April 9th by 3:00.
- Administration will not accept emails for non-requests.
- Limit your “non-request” to ONE teacher…no exceptions.
- If you wish to request that your child not be placed in the same homeroom with another specific student next year, you may follow these same guidelines, including limiting the request to only ONE student.
- Students’ 2021-2022 class assignments will be uploaded via Parent Portal in August.
- While we cannot guarantee that any “non-requests” will be honored, we will make a reasonable effort to do so.
Thank you!
