Attention Signals
What is it?
An attention signal is a tool that you use consistently use until it becomes a routine in your classroom. When the signal is used, students know to stop and pay attention to what you say or do.
How Do I Use This Strategy?
1) Establish a common signal for your class.
2) Practice using this signal as part of your every day routine, so that students get used to stopping when they see it.
3) After the routine is established, and you need your class's attention, use this signal.
Try it Out!
After reviewing the strategy, try it out in your classroom and post a picture to the corresponding link on the board. Remember, the more strategies you try, the more chances you have at a PRIZE!!!!!!
