St. Stanislaus STAR
April 6 , 2016
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Alleluia! The Easter season continues and what a time of celebration at our school.
Last week I attended the National Catholic Education Association Convention in San Diego where Catholic education was celebrated in many ways. I was able to attend many good sessions in the areas of reading, curriculum, and assessments. Celebrating liturgy with over 5,000 fellow Catholic educators is always a powerful experience. It is such a privilege and rewarding experience to attend this convention and learn that we are doing so many great things here at our school.
Next Monday, April 11, the school will be celebrating the life of Carole Hirsch. This special day of celebration is purposely being planned on the Opening Day of the St. Louis Cardinals. It is also the feast of St. Stanislaus. See information in the STAR today.
The school will soon be celebrating the artistic gifts of our students with our first art show! Come view the many talents of our students. Art work will be displayed in the gym for our parish to see. The gym will be open after the masses on April 16 and 17th for all to see the work of our students and the inspirations of our art teacher, Mary Markway. All are invited!
The school will be celebrating Grandparents Day on Friday, April 22. St. Stanislaus School invites Grandparents from the parish to come celebrate with us on this special day. Mass is at 8:00 a.m. with a reception in the gym to follow. We look forward to celebrating the special role grandparents have in Catholic education. Activities will be concluded by 10:00 a.m. (This celebration of Grandparents is replacing the traditional Community Bingo Day). We look forward this special day.
This year the school started a Robotics Club. Our students will be participating in the Robot Parade by entering the robot they programmed. This event is open to the public and will take place at the Jefferson City Mall on Saturday, April 9th at 1:00 p.m. If your child is interested in this area of science you might consider watching the parade. It is a great way to celebrate science.
May God continue to bless us!

WALK for LIFE Report
Our April 3 Walk for Life was a beautiful, glorious day! Enthusiastic pro-lifers—who filled the Lions Hall--enjoyed food, prizes and interaction with seven local pro-life organizations. Many great raffle prizes were given away, and there are more to come next year! Winners for collecting the most money for pro-life include Kally Bruce, daughter of Jamie and Gwen Bruce, who collected $600, Mary Douglas, daughter of Brian and Karen Douglas, who collected $265, and Gavin Schaben, son of Kristen Schaben, who collected $170. Thank you for your hard work! Thank you, St. Stanislaus and St. Margaret’s parishes, and all of our students and community who donated or participated in any way! We so much appreciate your efforts and kindness in action! May God bless you for your continued support of the unborn!
The Wardsville-Osage Bend Knights of Columbus, the Wardsville Lions Club, and the Pro-Life Committee
