Murray's Gifted Gab
December 2017
A Note From Mrs. Shook
First of all, I hope that you and your family have a wonderful break. I love all of the traditions that my family has during this time of year. I hope that you and your family get to spend some time together making memories. Thank you for the sweet gifts and the opportunity to work with your children.
We recently had a special visit from Rob Andrews, the admissions counselor from the North Carolina School of Science and Math. He spoke to interested students on Wednesday, December 6th. The NCSSM is traditionally known for its residential program. But did you know they have an online program that students can do as dual enrollment so they can attend their regular high school?
Our sixth grade affective curriculum groups have been a success. We've enjoyed talking about what it means to be gifted and how our brains group. I am hoping to expand the lunch bunch groups to include my 7th and 8th graders in the spring.
Please know that I am resource for you and your child. If you have questions and/or concerns, feel free to contact me!
Happy Holidays!
