Remembering Doris Padgett

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Doris Padgett. Doris passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 20, 2022 at the age of 97.


Doris served as the Town's head Librarian and Director of the Town's Public Library from 1965 until her retirement in 2015; 50 years.


We are honored that our Public Library - Doris Padgett Public Library - bears her name and we vow to preserve her memory for future generations.


Our thoughts and prayers are with the Padgett family.
