Husky Happenings
April 9-14
From Mr. Martin
I am so proud of our students. Let me share a normal morning that gets us to the pledge of allegiance. Our school day starts around 7am for many of our students in fine arts. Choir is our current season. These students get up early and come to school and participate. Our arrival time starts for many students around 7:30 in the cafeteria. It is great to see our students talking and working on chromebooks first thing in the morning. I enjoy working at the drop off out front and seeing students get out their parent’s car and walk into the building with a friend. It really gives you a sense of community when you see this. By 7:50, many students are eating breakfast. Gr. 5 and gr. 6 students are in the auditorium, and gr. 7 and gr. 8 students are in the gym. Then at 8…..It begins. Lockers, bellwork, organizing the day, reuniting with friends in the halls, walking to class, saying good morning to their teachers, etc. Daily at 8:10, we start our day with the pledge of allegiance, and we are off to a day of learning.
As we enter into the final part of the year, be sure that you are watching our calendar. We are already seeing days ‘overlap’ with other district meetings. In general, we limit most of our night time events to Tuesday and Thursday, but you will notice a couple of weeks out we had to move to Monday and Wednesday to accommodate conflicts.

From Nurse Collins
**ATTENTION 6TH GRADE PARENTS**
All 7th grade students will need their Tdap immunization to start 7th grade. It is required per Kansas law. Make those doctor’s appointments now to avoid the summer rush! Please turn in documentation to the nurse that your student has had the immunization. If you are unsure if your student needs this vaccine, please feel free to give the nurse a call to check or you can verify it in Skyward.
*REMINDER- The school does not carry any allergy medications. Please make sure your student is taking their allergy medications at home if prescribed or needed.
Students are going to be going through some state testing in the upcoming weeks. Please make sure your children are getting a good night’s sleep before testing dates and that they are eating a nutritious breakfast. Teens need about 8-10 hours of sleep per night!
The Health Room is in need of gently used girl’s/women’s pants, shorts, leggings and new underwear size 14-16 in Girls or size Small or Medium in Women’s. We also need boy’s/men’s pants, jeans or shorts sizes 12, 14, 16 or smaller men’s sizes. Thank you for your donations!
MINDSET MOMENT: Learn to be a risk taker because there is more to gain.
