Principal's Message

Dear Ride Families,

February is Black History Month - the traditional time of special awareness of African-Americans' contributions to the nation and world throughout history.

At Ride, we value all types of diversity and are dedicated to creating a community enriched by young women and men of diverse backgrounds and respectful of differences. During this time, we focus on important events and individuals related to African American history using children's books, interviews and illustrators, classroom activities, poetry, online resources, and even documentaries, We celebrate and learn about their lives and the different ways they have contributed to our rich history.

We are very proud of the many ways our students understand and appreciate different ideas and different perspectives. Your sons and daughters are respectful, listen, are empathetic and act wisely; they are well on their way to becoming leaders in our communities.

A Miracle for Ollie

Ride Challengers!

We have an opportunity to help one of our own Ride Families that is in need. Below is a link to watch the story of "ollie" and "Addi". They were featured on KHOU- Channel 11 last Wednesday. If you didn't get a chance to see it, please take a moment to click the link below.

Addi is one of our youngest students who attends our PPCD program, and Ollie is her younger brother. They both have a degenerative genetic disorder called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). Unfortunately, Addi has progressed passed the point of intervention, however, Ollie still has a chance for a miracle. Please join us in helping this family get the miracle they are needing to save Ollie's life.

COVID Tracing

There are likely many opportunities for students to gather outside of school with friends and loved ones. During this time, please express to your child the importance of taking precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19 by wearing masks, frequently washing hands, and social distancing. We all must work together as partners to balance the need for social interaction and celebration with keeping our schools open to in-person learning. Our partnership is critical in order to keep students and staff safe and in school throughout the holiday season. Should your child test positive for COVID-19, we ask that you email your child’s campus at contactride@conroeisd.net so we can provide the appropriate support and make the required notifications. Thank you.

As campuses prepare for the start of the fourth grading period, we know that some families may be considering changing instructional platforms. If you would like to move your child from remote/online instruction to face-to-face instruction or vice versa, please contact the PEIMS Clerk at your child’s campus by the end of the school day on Tuesday, February 16th. The fourth grading period begins on Monday, March 22nd.
