NJHS is partnering with the School Counselors during this year's "Season of Giving".

1st up: Can Goods Drive, beginning on October 1, 2018. Our goal is 6,000 cans.

High School Stadiums

All middle school students must be accompanied by an adult into football games at Vernon Newsom Stadium and RL Anderson Stadium. The student and adult must enter the game together.

Tickets for volleyball and football games

We are excited about our sports games beginning. For each game, an admittance ticket is required and needs to be purchased at the game. Cash or check are accepted. Adult tickets are $3 and students $2. If you have a grandparent 65 over, they can go to Newsome Stadium and pick up a Golden Ticket that allows seniors into games for free. Ms. Sally will be happy to help you at Newsome Stadium.

Way to go BAND!

Congratulations to all the Danny Jones Band members that were selected to the MISD All-District Honor Band. Danny Jones has 34 students selected to the MISD Honor Band. Students went through a very rigorous audition process last Saturday. DJMS band members will make up 34% of all the members of the MISD Middle School Honor Band.

Thank you, Mr. Bolden and Mrs. Herzberg for working so hard with our students to help them achieve these accomplishments.

Football Results from September 25

Monday was a good night for both of our C teams as they took on the Worley Tigers at Lake Ridge.

7th graders started the night with a solid effort and won the game 14-0

8th grade followed that with the same type of performance to win 21-12

Last night our 7th A & B traveled to Mansfield High to play Worley. The B team was locked in a defensive struggle and came up short in a 6-0 loss.

The A team came out and thrashed Worley in a dominating 42-9 victory.

At Newsom Stadium it was a tough night for both 8th-grade teams as they suffered 26-14 loss on the B team and a 14-0 loss for the A team.

Thanks to all the faculty and families that came out to support.

Arrival and Dismissal at DJMS

We are doing a great job as we begin this new year. Thank you for being patient as everyone learns the new routines and procedures for arrival and dismissal. Just a few reminders to keep in mind as we move forward this year.

  • Students are to be dropped off in front of the building for arrival. The building opens at 8:10 each day. If arriving for a sport, follow the coaches directions for arrival.
  • Students are to be picked up on the side or in front of the school. This is the Broad St. side or the Day Miar side of the school.
  • Follow the flow of traffic through the parking lot
  • Students walking home or being picked up by their parents will leave the building from the front. Students are not to leave the building from side or back exit areas.
  • Keep the circle drive clear for our designated cars and buses for that area.
  • Keep the area in front of the dumpsters clear. This is a no parking or standing zone.
  • The bus lane is in the back of the building near the football field. This is for buses only.
  • If driving in the back, be mindful that students are crossing to the field for practice before and after school.

Dress Code

Our dress code has changed a little this year. The students are following it well as we begin the year. Please remember the rips or tears in jeans must be below fingertip length when arms on down by the side. This follows the same guideline as the length of shorts and dresses. To see the full dress code, visit the link below.
